Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the raw log inventory, peeling operations and site equipment are running safely and with the goal of keeping downtime to a minimum.
The Operations Supervisor is accountable for health and safety, production, staffing, scheduling, and ensuring that all corporate policies, objectives and environmental standards are met. This position will spend 80% of the time as a hands-on operational resource and 20% on administrative operational duties.
This position will supervise the peeler crew and mobile equipment operators and coordinate all aspects of production, staffing, scheduling and inventory.
The Operations Supervisor works closely with the General Manager and the Health and Safety Supervisor to ensure that all company objectives are met.

Expected Contributions
Safety
- Work closely with Health and Safety Supervisor and proactively promote a safe work environment and attend and actively participate in safety meetings
- Oversee production in accordance with operational policies and procedures and in compliance with all health and safety policies
- Ensure that machinery, equipment and work areas are properly maintained in safe working condition
Environmental
- Oversees facility improvements and maintenance activities including environmental compliance at the site
- Ensures compliance with environmental policies
Supervisory
- Supervise the production of the peeler crew and mobile equipment operators
- Create and assign work tasks to production staff and coordinate staff and production schedules
- Coordinate shift activities with management to increase the continuity of operations
- Communicate production status to staff and escalate issues to General Manager accordingly
Production/Operations
- Plan production, manage the flow, and ensure daily production targets are met in conjunction with the Treating Plant Supervisor
- Ensure production volumes are met, downtime is limited, and follow up on any problems that may occur
- Ensure high-quality production
- Communicate production status and escalate issues to the General Manager
- Complete daily production reports and attend daily production meetings as required
Inventory
- In collaboration with the Treating Plant Supervisor, perform weekly and monthly inventory counts
- Monitor monthly inventory levels
Human Resources
- Responsible for human resources functions such as health and safety, recruitment, terminations, performance management, attendance management, and training

Work Location
- Prince Albert, SK, Mill is located 23 KM’s East of Prince Albert on Hwy 55 and Whitestar Road.
