Position Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning amp; Analysis, Infrastructure, will report into the Manager, FPamp;A, and work closely with senior leadership and the Infrastructure Value Creation amp; Asset Management team. The individual will be required to develop a deep understanding of the assets and be responsible for financial and operating analysis, upkeep of operational and valuation models, and investor reporting. This role offers the opportunity to develop a solid understanding of key performance metrics and drivers of the operating projects.


The successful candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a strong commitment to deadlines and the team, is process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and has a superior finance/accounting foundation.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the projects’ financial and compliance requirements, and acting as the first point of contact for the Value Creation amp; Asset Management, Fund Reporting and Financial Reporting teams
  • Working with the Value Creation amp; Asset Management team to manage the operational financial models for the projects and related analysis, including managing valuations
  • Responsible for reporting of investment performance against budget and key performance indicators
  • Assist with cash flow planning and identify opportunities to maximize investor returns
  • Continuous development and streamlining of processes and procedures
  • Assist with due diligence and review of potential acquisitions as required
  • Ad-hoc analysis on financial and operational results
  • Special projects as required

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant technical discipline with minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Preference given to candidates with specific knowledge and experience in power, mining, oil and gas, natural resources, or private public partnerships
  • CPA designation (or working towards CPA designation) required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Exceptional quality standards and an ongoing desire to push for new approaches, insights, and presentation methods
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines as a part of a team
  • Strong negotiation skills, tact and diplomacy
  • Strong business acumen and judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Location amp; Travel:

This position will be based out of our Oakville office. Fengate offers a Work-Flex policy where employees are allowed to work remotely up to 3 days per week.
