Primary Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dispatch Supervisor, the Schools Dispatcher is responsible for the dispatch of drivers and providing accurate direction. The role also includes providing a high degree of customer service in a fast paced work environment and being able to cover school routes when needed.
Requirements
- Excellent, strong, proven customer service experience
- Take responsibility for the Emergency Response Plan in the event of a serious collision
- Utilize radio to communicate effectively with all en route drivers
- Alert drivers to road closures and other delays
- Identify all runs and drivers active on routes are on time to ensure no students are left behind
- Manage and pull a variety of reports as per the Dispatch Supervisor directive
- Manage and assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance as required
- Answer phones, fax, and email correspondence in a professional and courteous manner
- Clean Criminal Record Search
- Time and Stress Management skills
- Good organization and communications skills
- Computer Software experience in MS Office
- Understanding of transportation industry an asset
- Able to work Monday to Friday 6:00am to 10:00am and 1:30pm to 5:30pm
- Successful candidate will be required to upgrade to a B licence if they do not already possess (Upgrade provided at no cost to you!)
