About the role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data QA Engineer to join our team. As a Data QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our data assets. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing data testing strategies, as well as identifying and addressing data quality issues. Your expertise in data validation, SQL, and automation practices will contribute to the overall data integrity and reliability of our systems.
What you’ll do:
- Design and execute data testing strategies to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across various systems and databases
- Develop, execute and maintain test cases and test scripts for data validation, data integration, and data transformation processes
- Collaborate with data engineers to understand data requirements, business rules and data transformations
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data quality standards, best practices, and data governance policies
- Investigate and troubleshoot data-related issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions and preventive measures
- Develop and maintain data testing frameworks and automation scripts to streamline data testing processes and improve efficiency
- Participate in data migration projects, ensuring data quality and integrity during the migration process
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in data quality tools, and emerging technologies related to data quality assurance
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the data quality assurance team
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Data QA (data, automation, defect, regression)
- Strong SQL skills to carry out data validations
- Write test cases, perform QA and participate with stakeholders on UAT
- Experience building data testing automation frameworks
- Passionate about the data space and automation, must be keeping up with latest technologies
- Willingness to learn new technologies and technical skills
- Follow and manage best practices and standards for data quality, scalability, reliability, and reusability
- Familiarity with dbt (data build tool), data warehouses, Looker, Airflow
- Good working knowledge of agile delivery techniques
- Experience in design, development, and maintenance of automation scripts
