Job Summary.

As a Class 1 Heavy Haul Driver, you will be responsible for hauling equipment from our facilities to construction sites. Arnett amp; Burgess is a federal carrier and practices compliance with all federal NSC standards and legislation.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Operate winch truck in a safe and effective manner.
  • Transport heavy equipment to various job sites in Alberta.
  • Load and unload equipment while following site safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure loads are secure.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and safety checks.
  • Ensure good communication with team about maintenance needs, safety concerns, etc.
  • Maintain clean and safe equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain Electronic logs, field level hazard assessments and time sheets in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Must have Valid Class 1 driver’s license.
  • Demonstrate ability, with extensive experience operating tractor and trailer combinations.
  • Knowledge and experience with heavy equipment within the oil and gas industry.
  • Willingness to work long hours including weekends.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with others.
  • Good verbal, reading comprehension, and writing skills.

Work Conditions

  • Up to 14 hours per day including weekends and evenings.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Subsistence provided for occasional multi-day trips.
  • Work will be based in Blackfalds or Sedgewick.
