ABOUT THE JOB

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to assess the quality of our websites through both manual and automated testing. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and report any bugs or glitches, as well as design and implement tests, debug issues, and determine the necessary corrective actions. Additionally, you will review system requirements and browser specifications, and monitor quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.

The QA engineer plays an important part in our company’s web development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests prior to site and feature launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while maintaining cost-effectiveness to meet client requirements.. In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. Ultimately, you will review all stages of the development process to ensure we meet best-in-class quality standards and the needs of our clients. Responsibilities:

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  • Execute test scripts and review results
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing sites to meet client needs
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies


ABOUT THE COMPENSATION amp; WORK REQUIREMENTS

This is a full-time position. The salary range for this position is $86,000 - $115,000 - the range is broad, but it is commensurate with experience, aligned with current members of our team with similar experience, and may shift a bit depending on your geographic location. This is a 100% remote role, but you must live and be able to work in the US or Canada.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who

  • Proven experience as a QA tester or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr)
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • Experience with WCAG 2.0 accessibility testing is a plus
