Job Description
Tricycle Lane Ranches Ltd (TLR) has a tremendous opportunity for a full-time permanent Accounts PayableAccountant to be based out of our new corporate offices near the airport in NE Calgary, Alberta. TLR is the 25-year-old Property Management and Land Acquisition business for its sister company BURNCO Rock Products Ltd (BURNCO), a 111-year-old construction materials business.
Reporting directly to our Operational Accountant and Controller, the ideal Accounts Payable Accountant will possess an analytical mind, be self-motivated and proactive, as well as having excellent problem-solving skills. You must be able to thrive in a dynamic environment and work with multiple companies. Good communication skills (both verbal and written) will allow you to develop strong working relationships inside the team as well as externally. You have a keen eye for detail and a desire to probe further into data, always mindful to deliver on the deadlines and time constraints you face. You are a professional who works well independently and as part of a team.
As a key member of the TLR team, you will bring a positive attitude, high ethical standards, and a track record of successfully resolving challenges with your collaborative approach especially when working with colleagues, vendors and financial institutions, government organizations and clients. Requirements
What You Will Be Doing
- Full cycle accounts payable
- Maintain vendor accounts and follow up with discrepancies
- Proper identification of capital costs versus operating and appropriate coding
- Coordinate payment runs
- Reconciling and recording of monthly credit card statements
- Accurate e-filing of documents to maintain an organized office
- Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the Operational Accountant and Controller
What We Would Like You To Bring
- Certification related to accounting or business
- Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
- Experience with Sage 50 is preferred
- Experience with cross border multiple companies
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
