About the Role

Nelson Education is seeking a People and Engagement (Pamp;E) coordinator to report to the Executive Director, People and Engagement, and become an essential part of our team!

As our People and Engagement coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in identifying, attracting, and selecting exceptional candidates who align perfectly with our company's vision and values. Your responsibilities will include posting job openings, sourcing candidates through various channels, conducting initial screenings, and coordinating interviews. You'll be the bridge that connects talented individuals to rewarding career opportunities within our organization.

Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with our People and Engagement team to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, assisting in the preparation of employment contracts, and maintaining up-to-date applicant records.

HR Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day Pamp;E operations and tasks.
  • Provide clerical and administrative assistance to the Pamp;E team.
  • Process and prepare personnel-related documentation and reports.
  • Coordinate Pamp;E projects and meetings
  • Address employee inquiries about Pamp;E policies and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing payroll data and related information, in particular around onboarding and offboarding of employees.

Recruitment Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to post job roles and utilize Applicant Tracking System (ATS) effectively.
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews.
  • Assist in sourcing candidates and maintain an updated database.
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings and assessments.
  • Provide onboarding support to new hires.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in human resource management, recruitment or similar field
  • Proficiency in utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools to manage candidate databases efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of recruitment strategies and sourcing techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Familiarity with HR policies, regulations, and employment laws
  • Detail-oriented approach
  • Keen interest in growing in HR and a desire to develop towards an HRBP position.
  • HR qualification and a post-secondary education in Human Resource Management would be a plus!
