Associate, Philanthropy

Full Time, Permanent

Vancouver, BC

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for an Associate, Philanthropy! Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, Western Canada, this position will support the Philanthropy team's day-to-day activities with a focus on donor stewardship and event planning and implementation.

Your impact at CNIB
  • Devise and continually improve high-quality external information for the benefit of CNIB donors including support writing competitive funding applications and proposals, including however not limited to United Way partnerships.
  • Ensure the internal CNIB team has clear information regarding program/project specific donations and collaborate to meet donor obligations.
  • Ensure appropriate administration of donor information in the donor database.
  • Provide support to the delivery of CNIB's Provincial fundraising events.
  • Coordinate team-oriented activities including, however not limited to, material ordering and logistics, managing equipment and supply inventories, implementing team administration tasks.
  • Maintain high quality stewardship practices for active donors including reporting and sustaining detailed records of activities.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all communications consistent with CNIB's brand.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in philanthropy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other departments (Finance, Marketing and Communications, Gift Management) for team projects.

Requirements

Who you are:
  • Superior relationship building skills, including the ability to relate effectively with people at all levels both internal and external to CNIB.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate to a diverse constituency.
  • Familiarity with comprehensive fundraising functions and regulations.
  • A results-oriented focus, a driven attitude and an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising and problem solving.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong donor-relations skills, including a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships and exercise discretion in interacting with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Professional attitude, self-starter and adapts to fast paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and determining priorities.
We want to hear from you if you have:
  • University degree or College diploma in marketing and communications/business administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a marketing or fundraising position.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite software applications including Teams and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Adhere to applicable privacy laws as well as AFP, CAGP and CNIB standards of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with the issues surrounding vision loss is an asset and a desire to be a passionate advocate for CNIB and those we serve.
  • Strategic mindset and creative approaches to deepening relationships and driving results.
  • Able to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Experience coordinating events and fundraising committees.
Work Environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Driver's license
