Job Description
Tricycle Lane Ranches Ltd (TLR) has a tremendous opportunity for a part-time Accounts PayableClerk to be based out of our corporate offices near the airport in NE Calgary, Alberta. TLR is the 25-year-old Property Management and Land Acquisition business for its sister company BURNCO Rock Products Ltd (BURNCO), a 111-year-old construction materials business.
Reporting directly to our Operational Accountant and Controller, the ideal Accounts Payable Clerk will be self-motivated and proactive, as well as having excellent problem-solving skills. You must be able to thrive in a dynamic environment and work with multiple companies. Good communication skills (both verbal and written) will allow you to develop strong working relationships inside the team as well as externally. You have a keen eye for detail and a desire to probe further into data, always mindful to deliver on the deadlines and time constraints you face. You are a professional who works well independently and as part of a team.

Initial on-boarding may require evening and weekend hours to ensure a successful transition into the role. There will be some flexibility to days and hours worked by the candidate once core competencies are attained.
*This is not a remote or hybrid position and candidates residing close to our NE Calgary location will be prioritized
Requirements
What You Will Be Doing
- Accurate review of invoices for processing
- Accurate data entry of vendor invoices in SAGE 50 after review
- Preparation of fund request sheet for approval for payment
- Coordinate payments runs via cheque generation of EFT set-up on banking platform
- Issuance and tracking of purchase orders
- Maintain vendor accounts and follow up with discrepancies
- Identify vendors with incomplete contact information (contact person, email, phone number and address)
- Reconciling and recording of monthly credit card statements
- Accurate scanning of all Accounts Payable payment approval requests and invoices as required under good accounting practices for record keeping.
- Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the Operational Accountant and Controller
What We Would Like You To Bring
- Certification related to accounting or business
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
- Experience with Sage 50 is preferred
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
