Laurel Steel, located in Burlington is looking to add the right candidates to fill the role of Industrial Electrician
The role is to maintain all production equipment with specialized knowledge while maintaining Laurel Steels' high standard of performance.
DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Electricians must be committed to their own personal safety as well as the safety of others around them
- Demonstrate conduct consistent with Laurel Steel/Nucor’s mission and values
- Ensure compliance with all electrical codes amp; standards
- Have a working knowledge of the latest
- PLC/HMI systems
- high power MV systems
- hydraulic/pneumatic control systems, and
- machine guarding systems
- Troubleshoot complex electrical systems, while working individually or as a part of a team with other maintenance and production personnel
- Familiarize themselves with all equipment at Laurel Steel and be knowledgeable of the necessary preventative maintenance needs and common repairs
- Participate in all aspects of breakdown, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
- Repair and maintain production equipment including but not limited to overhead cranes, forklift trucks, and KASTO equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Capable of communicating clearly and professionally to other teammates, as well as external contractors, customers, and guests
- Create and enter work orders, post parts and time in CMS (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Complete necessary paperwork as directed by their supervisor
- Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general, as well as contributing to the overall positive team environment.
- Performs related duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Valid Ontario Electrical license- 442A or 309A
- Minimum 3-5 years post-certification experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment
- Ability amp; willingness to work overtime when required for deadlines to be met
- Ability to multi-task while ensuring safety amp; quality and deadlines are met
Working conditions
- Plant Environments
- Rotating Shifts - Monday to Friday 8 hours Afternoons/Days/Nights. Depending on the area you work in, the environmental conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet, or noisy
- Overtime hours when needed

- Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Lifting, Bending, twisting, and crouching
