Job Description

Servus is growing! We are currently looking for an Associate Project Manager Facilities in our Corporate Services department.

Employment Status: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Location: The scope of the position is province-wide, working from an office located in either Edmonton, Red Deer, or Calgary.

Compensation: $85,699 - $107,124 dependent on experience and education

Requirements

This position is accountable to the Project Manager Facilities for enterprise-wide capital assets including properties, facilities (including those leased by Servus CU), furniture and equipment, and security and privacy.

Functional Duties

  • Within an approved budget execute the approved strategy, in partnership with the Project Manager Facilities and Senior Manager Corporate Services that ensures the best utilization of corporate assets/capital to ensure the efficient operation of properties (owned and leased). This includes branches, administration offices, and revenue properties.
  • Aware of changing technologies and looks for opportunities which can either reduce operating costs or move our facilities to becoming more environmentally friendly.
  • Responsible for the land, physical buildings and building systems, furniture, and exterior signage. In most cases, Properties Department resources will facilitate and support the primary owner of office, security, telephone, banking, computer equipment and related cabling to achieve the desired outcomes for our internal customers.
  • Within an approved budget negotiate contracts with service suppliers and contractors with Procurement support.
  • Act as Servus’ contact between architects and contractors. For some projects you will be the liaison to the general contractor and in other projects it will be expected that the Associate Project Manager will take on the role of the general contractor.
  • Engage and expend corporate resources wisely.
  • Engage staff and departments thoughtfully and ensure meeting/project related contact are timely, each have identified result goals/ objectives are focused. At times this would be in conjunction with a PMO.
  • Provide business case analysis and consulting support and work closely with departments/branches to validate business needs and requirements.
  • Assist in the building and managing of the required databases, diary systems, and information to proactively administer all required activities with as many viable beneficial options accruing to Servus, as possible.
  • Support Project Manager Facilities in the required level of collaboration to identify and execute major capital projects for new locations, re-locations, expansion and renovations for retail branches, specialty branches/offices and administrative premises. Maintain the tools, systems, and resources to executive at a high level on this key responsibility area.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures relating to effective project management.
  • Ensure scope of work, terms and conditions, and specifications of a project are documented and followed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development of annual budget, project budget, manage changes, determine progress and generate forecasts. Be responsible for projects financial performance.
  • Promote and ensure safety compliance in all areas of responsibility and actively resolve safety issues or concerns.
  • Report performance to financial targets. Support corporate goals and initiatives.
  • From time to time the scope of the role may include some maintenance responsibilities.

Experience:

  • 5 years in property management, business management and related progressive leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of participating in and leading construction projects.
  • Experience with BlueBeam, Autodesk Suite, and MS Project or other construction related software considered an asset.
  • 5-10 years in the construction industry in a project management position.

Education and Training:

  • Construction Designer is considered an asset

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Engineering Technologist Certification an asset
  • Certified Project Manager or in process of acquiring
  • Any other building or construction related licenses or certificates would be a benefit.

Any other special requirements necessary to do the job:

Travel throughout the province will be required to meet with staff and visit existing and potential properties.

Extra hours outside or regular business hours and banked time required.
