Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Content Coordinator will help execute content strategy with the goals of maximizing reach, growing our overall audience, while entertaining, engaging and informing our fan base. The Digital Content Coordinator will interface with the content department along with other departments within our organization to assist in the preparation, packaging, posting, and reporting on our hockey and concert content to reach fans on Senators.com, CanadianTireCentre.com, SensTV and all social media platforms.

The ideal candidate will be highly attentive to detail and possess superlative communication and organizational skills. The ability to successfully probe for information, obtain answers from various sources and understanding the process for creating various forms of content will greatly shorten the learning curve. It is also key to own a drive for mastering new CMS, software, apps and platforms.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Planning

  • Gather and organize details of each content project, its production and coordinate assets for execution.
  • Coordinate all assets and UTMs for all web and social platforms.
  • Track progress of interdepartmental content projects from initial request to final approval.
  • Facilitate social and digital sweepstakes along with contests to include preparing and uploading rules, handling fulfilment, tracking and managing winners.
  • Assist in developing content calendars across multiple profiles as well as actioning the components of the calendar throughout the internal approval and scheduling process.
  • Assist in developing timely and detailed reports to content team as well as various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in creative problem solving, make suggestions, and provide guidance for changes or improvements to the content production process.

Web Content

  • Assist with content publishing and updating of Senators.com and CanadianTireCentre.com using a CMS (Content Management System).
  • Write titles, articles, pages and produce videos on Senators.com that are ADOA compliant and incorporate SEO and organizational messaging.
  • Vigorously review Senators.com and CanadianTireCentre.com to ensure most accurate and effective information is easily discoverable.
  • Organize, track and report all Run-of-Network, static sponsorship and other advertising assets.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and solve problems with web design, functionality and efficacy.
  • Research other like-minded organizations and collect cutting-edge web design and content tactics and infrastructure.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.

Social Media

  • Periodically manipulate graphic templates by changing photos and text for each content piece.
  • Participate in researching and brainstorm content ideas for social activations in addition to organizational projects.
  • Work closely with social media and marketing teams to ensure brand and sponsor requirements are adhered to.
  • Help prepare videos for posting on YouTube and SensTV, including title, thumbnail, end cards and monetization.
  • Collect iPhone content as needed, on game/concert days, in the community, at practice and at events.

Requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree or College diploma in business related discipline (eg. communication, digital media, journalism, sports management).
  • Ideally, experience with corporate/brand representation or journalism experience on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube and/or Twitch.
  • Experience using content applications and platforms, such as CMS, WordPress and social media tools.
  • Strong computer application skills and experience with various forms of content creation a plus.
  • Strong photo editing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with collaboration/sharing tools such a Google Docs, Slack, amp; Asana
  • Ability to demonstrate successful past experience in a professional project management or otherwise highly organizational and detail-oriented position.
  • Highly creative and attentive to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral amp; written.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with superlative follow-through ability.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline heavy environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and work on tight deadlines.
