The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) is a key member of the Corporate Finance Team and will handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. The SFA role is a highly visible position with exposure to Fengate's three areas of business and the executive leadership team. In addition to producing financial reporting deliverables, the successful candidate will shape a best-in-class finance team that partners will the business to make strategic, data-driven decisions. This position provides the foundation, guidance, and exposure towards a challenging and dynamic career at Fengate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting including review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries and allocations, together with supporting documentation, for Fengate’s corporate entities.
- Prepare consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements for Fengate’s corporate entities, including notes disclosures and supporting schedules.
- Create and enforce business rules for all financial reporting, including strengthening internal controls over financial reporting.
- Actively participate and lead the resolution of complex technical accounting issues, including coordination with auditors, fund administrators and business platforms.
- Prepare and maintain key documentation for the purposes of the year end audits, including process narratives.
- Work collaboratively with internal parties and external service providers to ensure legal entity records are maintained appropriately and in compliance with accounting standards and relevant policies.
- Coordinate and prepare corporate tax returns and related filings.
- Monitor bank balances and prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient funds to meet operational requirements.
- Review supporting documentation for various corporate payments and collaborate with accounts payable to organize, code, and submit vendor invoices for payment in a timely manner.
- Prepare step memos and other documentation necessary to support contributions and distributions.
- Provide guidance and coaching to junior staff.
- Strengthen executive decision making by assisting in the preparation and presentation of various financial analyses to Fengate’s leadership team.
- Support projects led by Corporate Finance, including implementation of activities to improve financial reporting accuracy and efficiencies. Participate in technological initiatives to enhance data reporting capabilities.
- Support special projects and other cross-finance team support as required.
Requirements
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant technical discipline.
- CPA designated, with 3+ years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function.
- Experience working with financial systems, advanced Excel skills and ability to construct professional PowerPoint presentations; experience with Power BI is an asset.
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles (IFRS, ASPE)
- Strong customer focus with excellent relationship building and a collaborative working style.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to managing workload as well as professional development.
- Experience in the following would be advantageous: Netsuite, carried interest/performance fees calculations, complex legal structures
