Nelson is seeking a provincially certified educator for the position ofTeaching and Learning Lead. Successful candidatesare passionate highly organized individuals with professional development experience and a thorough understanding of the dynamics and strategic priorities of school systems across the country. They are fluent in current educational research, policies, and relevant topics including equity, diversity, and inclusion, mental health and well-being, Indigenous education, and new curriculum implementations. They can design and deliver professional learning services in captivating, flexible, and effective ways, working directly with administrators and educators to embed digital teaching and learning into classroom practice. The Teaching and Learning Lead will design, deliver, and support other educators to implement professional learning programming that is backed by educational research, is highly engaging, and supports Edwin and Nelson account management goals. This role will also be able to leverage the work of the Marketing team and the expertise of authors, educational experts and thought leaders in a way that supports the Edwin and Nelson mission to educate the world by learning from everyone in it.

Key Accountabilities

  • In collaboration with Classroom Success and Marketing team members, design and continually optimize a program of professional learning that supports specific Edwin accounts and overall business goals.
  • Build and manage a network of educators who can deliver high quality programming for administrators, classroom teachers, and students, including an accreditation program for these educators to demonstrate proficiency in using Edwin to support an array of instructional approaches.
  • Build and manage a network of Edwin advocates from school districts across the country, including providing professional learning opportunities, events, contests, communications and other opportunities for engagement.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and other internal and external thought leaders and educational influencers to build and deliver inspirational programming and associated supporting material to help to attract new customers and to support existing customer retention.

Requirements

  • Provincially Certified Teacher credentials.
  • Passionate about connecting and collaborating to share best practices, materials and opportunities for educators and administrators to learn from and with each other.
  • Exemplary presentation skills.
  • Strong time management skills and competency for handling multiple tasks and objectives quickly; sense of urgency and results driven; customer focused.
  • Experience in marketing, educational publishing, event planning, and network building are all assets.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Superior organization, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technology skills.
  • Must have own vehicle with ability to travel approximately 10% on average, with some conference seasons requiring more travel.
  • Flexibility to occasionally provide presentations in person and online after normal business hours.
