Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:

Auto Body Repair:

  • Perform all straightening and repairs to factory specifications and repair order including door, hood, deck alignments, chassis and frame measurements, welded on unibody parts and related tasks
  • Remove and replace sheet metal, glass and cosmetic parts
  • Straighten/repair damaged panels and parts
  • Make unibody and frame pulls to within specifications
  • Apply filler and sand to match original contours
  • Take photos after all repairs, before refinish
  • Polishing, when required
  • Reassembly, headlight adjustment and other final alignments
  • Work with Repair Planner or Production Manager regarding supplement processing

Repair Planning:

  • Vehicles brought in and out by the Team
  • Vehicle/repairs reviewed with the Repair Planner prior to disassembly
  • Work with Repair Planner regarding supplement process
  • 100% Disassembly required on all vehicles
  • Vehicles with received parts to be checked by Technician for accuracy and damage
  • Parts must be organized on cart for effective mirror-matching
  • RO# on the white Cart Board, cart follows the vehicle throughout production
  • Take pictures using CosmosSync app for every vehicle/repair before it moves departments

Parts:

  • Support Parts in checking parts for correctness and mirror matching, prior to beginning repair and reporting any discrepancies to Production Manager
  • Ensure all repairs are completed as per work order (install all ordered parts)
  • Upon completion of each job, audit for 100% parts utilization; place parts on cart until reassembly
  • Discard used parts after reassembly and QC are completed

Quality Control:

  • Report any discrepancies, missed damage, hazardous conditions, damaged tools or equipment or other problems to the Production Manager
  • Report any additional damage to the Production Manager or Repair Planner
  • Audit body work and sign off on all body repairs prior to Prep
  • Strive to become more skilled and efficient, attend training as required.

Shop Cleanliness:

  • Each Team is assigned a daily responsibility to keep their work area and production shop clean, and will participate in the weekly cleaning program
  • Breakdown cardboard and put in recycling
  • Remove old parts and discard (including scrap aluminum)
  • Remove garbage

Health amp; Safety:

  • Must provide own tools in good working order to complete necessary tasks.
  • Adopt work habits in accordance with OHSA, company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area that reflects the excellent working conditions of the company.

Requirements

  • Driving, must have a valid G drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Experience or equivalent training in automotive collision repair

Specialized training:

  • I-CAR and ASE Certification a plus
  • Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (310/310B)

Skills amp; Abilities Requirements:

  • Work independently without close supervision
  • Flexible/adaptable to constant change
