CSN Dundas Valley Collision is an multi award-winning auto body repair shop, including 2023 CSN Collision Centres Shop of the Year. We offer quality collision repairs to Dundas and surrounding areas, including Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster, Waterdown, and Flamborough for over 40 years.

This position is crucial to the productivity, image, and reputation of CSN Dundas Valley Collision Centre.

Position Summary:

CSN Dundas Valley Collision Centre is looking for anAuto Body Technicianto join our team. Our Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The Incumbent is detailed oriented and can multitask to accommodate shifting priorities. The technician reports to Production amp; General Managers.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

  • Review repair order and plan work to be performed
  • Dismantle vehicle and thoroughly examine collision damage. Identify any prior or additional damages overlooked on the QA checklist/ or related on the supplemental damage sheet.
  • Performing structural and complete body repairs: Repair and/or replace vehicle sheet metal and structural components as per OEM requirements.
  • Frame bench/fixture set up, electronically measure and preform structural replacements and realignments to OEM specification
  • Steel and Aluminum welding on vehicles with the use of MIG and Resistance spot welders.
  • Fully dismantle the complete vehicle damaged areas including the blend panel parts in order to identify all hidden damages as early in the repair cycle as possible.
  • Ability to use plastic fillers to prepare repair panels for paint
  • Restore vehicle to factory specification (Return the vehicle back to factory/OEM specifications)
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
  • Technician must be able to read and understand the estimates.
  • Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures.
  • Able to work with a variety of metals and plastics, as well as glass, electrical, and mechanical parts.
  • Experience using frame and 3D electronica measuring equipment.
  • Experience with disassembly and reassembly of vehicles
  • Ability and willingness to follow standardized production processes.
  • Be a great CSN ambassador.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Auto Body Repair and refinishing experience - 2+ years required
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License (Preferred but not a must) or in a registered apprenticeship program.
  • Technicians with I-Car and OEM certifications are favorable.
  • I car Welding certification an asset
  • Carrying, Lifting 100 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, reaching)
  • Valid Drivers license required
  • Must have own tools, safety footwear.
  • Up to date Compliance Training, such as AODA,WHMIS, Worker Health and safety Awareness and Workplace Violence and Harassment)and knowledge of Information Security PIPEDA
  • Working Knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex an asset
