Program Lead, Come to Work

Full Time, Contract (22 months)

We're looking for a mission-driven Program Lead, Come to Work who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB
  • You will develop, deliver, and evaluate job readiness workshops for talent cultivation in collaboration with the wider Come to Work team.
  • You will constantly seek opportunities to improve service delivery metrics and participant outcomes, leveraging available evaluation data.
  • You will implement plans to maximize the success of CNIB programs in your local market including the growth of existing programs working within national and provincial service delivery standards and program curricula.
  • You will build strong, positive relationships with program participants, and seek insight into their unique needs, goals and lived experiences.
  • You will provide one-on-one guidance and support to program participants through their job readiness journey.
  • You will engage in outreach efforts by identifying, developing, and stewarding strong and effective relationships and partnerships with community organizations, social and vocational agencies that are aligned to and/or can help further our mission.

Requirements

Who you are:

Education and Certifications

  • Degree or diploma in Social Science, Humanities, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a social service environment.
  • Knowledge and experience working and/or volunteering at a not-for-profit organization.
  • A track record of successful people skills encompassing establishing, developing and maintaining positive relationships with individuals seeking services, partnerships with organizations, and team of volunteers.
  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and other societal issues that create barriers for the blindness community is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with volunteers and delivering volunteer-led programming.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver clear communications to a dispersed audience.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven time management, planning, coordinating and organization skills; proactive in initiating multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Effectively demonstrates understanding and championing of diversity, inclusion and accessibility issues.
  • Professional attitude, results oriented, strategic, and flexible.
  • Excellent analytical, problem definition and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven planning and coordinating skills; proactive in initiating multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
