About the role

Andy is seeking a proactive, autonomous, and dynamic individual to join the accounting department team as an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will assist in managing the accounting team, participate in the complete accounting cycle, and work closely with the Financial Controller to prepare financial statements and financial analyses for the group's entities. The candidate will also play a key role in improving internal processes and controls.

What you’ll do here:

· Participate in the preparation and execution of month-end activities for various entities within the group.

· Perform monthly reconciliations of different financial statement accounts.

· Prepare monthly adjusting journal entries for accruals, depreciation, prepaid expenses, liabilities, and other adjusting accounts following NCECF and company accounting policies.

· Reconcile intercompany accounts.

· Maintain the fixed asset schedule.

· Monthly reconciliation of inventory accounts.

· Verify monthly bank reconciliations.

· Produce monthly financial statements.

· Assist in the consolidation of monthly financial statements (validate and eliminate intercompany transactions).

· Prepare government declarations.

· Contribute to the year-end file preparation.

· Participate in process and system improvement and implement internal control procedures, including inventory management.

· Perform any other tasks necessary for the smooth operation of accounting and financial operations.

What you bring to the table:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

· Hold an accounting designation (CPA), an asset.

· Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including intermediate Excel skills.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software (an asset).

· Bilingual, both verbally and in writing (English and French)
