Senior Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager at REDspace, you play many roles; Scrum Master, servant leader, project lead, facilitator and trusted advisor.This is a hybrid role that will be based out of our office in Bedford, NS.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for executing Project Management activities related to delivering a specific service and its associated subsystems within REDspace’s Unified Digital Framework (UDF) projects to its clients. This role encompasses all stages of the project life cycle, from initiation to delivery of the sub-systems and close-out of the project.

Please note: This position requires Controlled Goods and Reliability Clearances, therefore the incumbent of this position must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, and must be located within Canada.

Skills/experience.

  • Undergraduate degree in any of the following: Computer Science, Engineering, or completion of a diploma program from a recognized post secondary institution (preferred).
  • 10 years and/or demonstrated capability in the IT industry Demonstration of strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated progressive levels of responsibility, and experience managing large complex life-cycle projects.Successfully managed the overall development and implementation of large federal government projects (over $1M), with significant experience managing fixed price projects.
  • Sufficient technical background to enable effective management of project teams in developing large multi-tiered and client server systems.
  • Sound knowledge of PM principles and practices, and project management of large , complex IT projects.
  • Must have knowledge of common industry project management tools and hold a current PMI certification.
  • Understanding of common developmental/life-cycle processes.
  • Understanding of Engineering Principles for howsystems aredefined and decomposed into manageable tasks. Knowledge and engineering standards such as ISO/IEC 15288, and IEEE/ISO/IEC 12207-2017 is considered an asset.
  • Experiences with Earn Value Management
  • Complete understanding and knowledge of systems/software development life cycle and development methodologies and quality standards particularly as they related to PM practices.
  • Experience with common project management tools Word, Excel, Visio, MS-Project, Jira, etc.
  • Knowledge of conversion processes, tools and testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) tools and techniques.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Must be able to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Ability to present ideas/solutions to peers,customers, partners, and sub-contractors (e.g., new or improvement processes, procedures, tooling).
  • Ability to work as part of a large program and interact well all levels of UDF program team and customer-Strong leadership with Customers, Peers, and REDspace Staff
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels of customer organizations.
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and time management skills.
  • Established consulting skills.
  • Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead large teams.
  • Has managed a cross-functional team of technical resources.
  • Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency is a mandatory requirement for security clearances and access to controlled goods.
