Transit Supervisor - St Thomas

Job Description
Voyago is currently recruiting for a Transit Supervisor in St Thomas, Ontario.
Your Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all Transit related operations in assigned areas. Primarily focusing on internal logistics and coordinating operations between the Transit division and other operations support teams. This individual will work closely with Human Resources and Maintenance to support operations while managing the individuals within the operation.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Directs the activities of staff, ensuring that drivers are meeting the standards set out in various Transit contracts and ensuring business activities continue to be managed during staff vacation/sick leaves
- Monitors performance of staff through site visits, completed incident/collision reports and conducts follow-up when required, providing annual performance review input and resolving problems
- Works closely with union representatives on all employee matters.
Operations
- You will report on KPI’s as directed, review with drivers and report back to Operations Manager
- You are available for on-call for divisional emergencies which may include holidays and weekends
- You will maintain work schedules and ensure coverage is provided at all times
- You have the ability to lead multiple projects while adhering to strict timelines and conflicting deadlines
- You will functions as key contact to support teams such as maintenance, human resources and health and safety
Payroll
- You will maintains paperwork and timesheets and oversees all elements of the process
- You ensure timely and accurate entering of payroll
Employee Engagement
- You will be the main contact for all staff and assist in all forms of employee engagement and regular meetings
Onboarding
- You will actively assist with and co-ordinate driver on boarding and orientation processes for new hires
Requirements
Your Profile:
- You posses a college diploma or equivalent
- You bring a minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- You have a minimum valid G Drivers License
- You posses a clean Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector Search
- You have an In-depth knowledge of the St Thomas and Elgin County region
- You posses strong communication skills
- You have enhanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook applications and technology
- You will provide a strong, proven customer service experience
