Job Description

The iQx team member is the face of the iQ brand, but also represents the goals of Equinox to offer its guests a full-circle health amp; wellness experience. Our team members do it ALL - from FOH to BOH and Prep, they chop, mix, prep, blend, clean and serve our guests all at once. Unlike the rest of our iQ locations, iQx is a concept cafe/Smoothie Bar which offers upwards of 15 different kinds of smoothies, toasts and a selection of wraps, snacks and bottled beverages, as well as a full service coffee and tea bar. Most of our guests are members of Equinox and visit us knowing that we are able to offer them the type of healthy snack and nourishment they seek both pre- and post-workout. Being in partnership with Equinox and having access to their regular members has allowed us to get to know many of our guests on a personal level and develop special relationships with them. Our team members thrive in a friendly, welcoming environment and look forward to seeing our guests on a daily basis.

While certain aspects of the role call for independent work, our small teams work in tandem to deliver amazing service, complete orders and keep a fully-stocked and clean space with collaborative ease at all times.

Requirements

PRIMARY DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate full knowledge of our menu, making product suggestions to new and regular guests with confidence.
  • Ability and willingness to establish friendly rapport and relationships with our guests - this is very important at our locations, as we see many of our regular guests on a daily basis and they not only look forward to their daily smoothie but are excited to see/catch up with us, as well.
  • Taking orders and punching them through the POS, while being able to accommodate most requests for substitutions.
  • Preparing smoothies, making toasts, ringing in Gamp;G orders, prepping produce and snacks, completing deep clean and daily tasks - these are all requirements that our team members execute with ease on a daily basis, as each member is fully trained in BOH, FOH, Prep and customer service. The right team member should be willing to take ownership of all of the above tasks and be expected to have exceptional time management skills moving with ease between all tasks.
  • Maintaining impeccable FOH standards, allowing for guests to feel welcomed from the first moment they approach our counter.
  • Working alongside all Team Members as a collective unit to ensure the space is maintained and organized at all times - there is no single dishwasher and not just one person who takes orders - members are expected to communicate with each other at all times, rotating between BOH and FOH to ensure fair and equal distribution of workload throughout the day.

  • Passion for health and wellness - our guests will talk to you and ask you for advice when it comes to health and wellness practices, sharing their experiences and appreciating your own feedback. Our Team Members don’t shy away from sparking up a conversation and offering their own feedback on health practices, while solidifying long-lasting relationships with everyone who comes through.
  • Passionate about food, smoothies and more - thorough knowledge of all of our boosters and add-ons is a must, as guests expect us to know all there is to know about our protein powders, energizers and more. Our iQx team members live and breathe wellness and are curious about exploring different aspects of physical and mental health, making sure to share their knowledge with our guests.
  • Extroverted - willing and looking to form close relationships with all guests, getting to know them by name and eventually remembering their order/preferences
  • Professional, yet friendly demeanor - being part of an exclusive members-only club, we often have high-profile guests coming through to use our services (public figures, creatives, celebrities, etc). While it’s exciting to welcome people from all walks of life and rub shoulders with notable figures, we aim to treat each guest with the same excitement and demeanor, maintaining a professional manner and respecting their right to privacy without prying.
  • Hard-working and reliable - while we may experience downtimes at times throughout the day, there are many deep cleaning and prep tasks that can be completed during those times. Team members should have the drive and self-motivation to keep busy regardless of demand at different times of the day.
  • Willingness/Ability to work alone - at times, our team members will work a solo shift at one of our locations (Bay specifically). This requires supreme organizational skills and intuition when it comes to demand and preparing the right pars for our lines, as this location tends to experience a bit of slower traffic.
