Job Description

The Canadian Press is looking for a talented and motivated QA Engineer to join our Toronto team. As a QA Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that the software products we create meet the highest standards of quality. Your responsibilities will include testing web applications, creating effective test cases, and working closely with our Software Development and Product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility.
  • Designing and executing effective test cases, leveraging both manual and automated testing approaches.
  • Collaborating closely with software developers and product teams to gather all the data required for efficient QA Functional Test Plans and automation scripts.
  • Designing and implementing tools for automating our quality assurance procedures and developing QA testing processes for new and existing products to meet the specific needs of our clients.
  • Creating and improving testing-related documentation, including test plans, test cases, and automation test scripts.
  • Identifying quality issues and creating test reports using appropriate bug tracking tools.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, preferably in the media industry.
  • Good understanding of software testing processes and methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, scripting languages like Python, and web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Experience in testing APIs and responsive web applications.
  • Experience with AODA and developing AODA test plan.
  • Experience working in AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

  • Évaluer la validité et la faisabilité des expériences d'utilisateurs, des cas d'utilisation et des exigences.
  • Concevoir et exécuter des cas de test efficaces, en s'appuyant sur des approches de test manuelles et automatisées.
