We’re looking for our next experienced Systems Administrator to join our IT team. Reporting to the Director, IT amp; Infrastructure, you’ll use your technical acumen and strong interpersonal skills to provide effective technical support to internal employees.
A day in the life as a Systems Administrator:
- Maintain essential IT operations, including networks, servers, email systems, and all employee hardware
- Proactively manage performance of the company’s IT infrastructure to optimize availability amp; reliability
- Identify, investigate, and resolve user problems with computer software and hardware, leveraging available tools to resolve issues in an efficient manner
- Ensure the timely hardware and systems set-up for oncoming employees; own asset management throughout the entire employee lifecycle
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal users
- Support the testing and deployment of new applications and systems as required
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT infrastructure and processes
If the below describe your knowledge, experience and character, this role could be for you:
- I have knowledge of tools and techniques for anticipating, diagnosing and resolving technical problems, gained through formal education as well as 5+ years of experience in a combination of IT Helpdesk and Systems Administration roles
- I have administration experience with Windows, Mac, Microsoft 365, Azure, and other popular enterprise applications, and have a proven ability to adapt to new systems quickly and independently
- I have professional experience with enterprise backup and recovery procedures, performance monitoring tools, networking, virtualization, and systems integrations
- I approach everything I do with a security mindset
- I have proven written and verbal communication skills and take pride in delivering excellent customer service
- I work well as part of a small team in which back-up is often required
- I am willing to be available for occasional off-hours work to support our global workforce
- I’m extra passionate about solving technical problems and learning new technologies
- I’m willing to occasionally travel and have a valid passport and no travel restrictions that limit my ability to cross the border between Canada and the USA
- I thrive in an agile environment that is constantly changing and encourages team members to collectively collaborate and communicate
- I love to be directly involved in projects and initiatives that offer continued learning and endless opportunity to express my ideas and build my leadership skills
