Position Overview:

As part of the QA team you will be responsible for delivering quality product. You will also be advocating for quality throughout the SDLC by ensuring processes and best practices are being followed, and you will be working with stakeholders who value your input. The team consists of a diverse group of talented QA Analysts and Automation Engineers, who use modern testing tools, technologies, and techniques.

What we want you to own in this role:

As a QA Engineer, you will :

  • Provide cross-browser amp; platform testing (e.g., Android, iOS, and Web multi browsers with different OS) of our prescription glasses and assess the website application for product readiness for production releases.
  • Develop test cases in Testcollab based on requirements provided by PMs in Jira, and execute test cases and test plans using TestCollab to ensure features are delivered with high-quality standards
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and smoke tests on a variety of environments e.g. Staging, UAT, and Production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers to ensure best practices and standards are followed when it comes to QA.
  • Participate in bug triaging, priority assessment, and coverage tracking of reported bugs into Jira.
  • Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies e.g. daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and lesson-learned meetings.
  • Work with the Test Automation team to review, provide, and prioritize test cases to be automated, and help analyze automation results.
  • Ability to work effectively meeting deadlines in an agile environment
  • Mastery in analyzing business, technical, and functional needs and requirements
  • Validate the response, response time, and error code. ( API testing with Postman)

Basic Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
  • Strong familiarity with functional and regression testing on cross-browser amp; platforms using different tools like browser stack. E-commerce-based applications would be an added advantage.
  • Working experience using defect tracking systems (JIRA).
  • Excellent communication skills, you’re able to write detailed bug reports, and can explain technical problems with ease.
  • You have a good sense of urgency, great attention to detail, and a passion for shipping high-quality software.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Must have primary knowledge of Web services and verification using Postman
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multiple teams
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a project team
  • Rigorous in following processes and documenting your work
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving and debugging abilities
  • Experience in API testing

As of 01/01/2024, the expected annual compensation range for this position is $80,000 to 90,000 CAD. Actual pay within this range will be based upon several factors, including without limitation education, work experience, certifications, geographic pay differentials, market conditions, and other business and organizational needs.
