Position Overview:
The Senior Software Development Test Engineer (SDET) is a key team member capable of leading the development of automation test strategies, working hand in hand with manual QAs as well as the development team to build and improve new or existing automated test solutions. The role requires proven technical abilities, self-starter abilities, and mentorship skills. The Senior SDET is a capable engineer who can lead when needed, be a contributor, support, and also blaze new paths.
What we want you to own in this role:
- Provide technical leadership in conceiving, building/developing, or maintaining automated tests in different categories such as Web, API, or mobile
- Draft and propose test automation strategies along with an implementation plan
- Create efficient test plans and test cases following product requirement
- Bring in the knowledge of multiple open source/commercial tools for Web/Mobile/Services Automation
- Bring hands-on competencies around DevOps, Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery
- Bring experience in software quality best practices, test strategy and planning, test case development, test case execution, deployment and, test data, defect tracking, and test automation
- Supports Junior to senior test automation engineers in their daily activities around script development and optimization of those test scripts.
- Responds appropriately and competently to the demands of work challenges when confronted with changes, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures.
- Perform root cause analysis to find areas for improvement or optimization within products and their dependent areas.
Basic Qualifications:
Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in creating automation frameworks and tools to advance test automation
- Hands-on experience in building automation suites for Web applications, and RESTful services. Mobile experience would be a plus.
- Experience with code management tools mainly Git and pipeline routines like GitHub actions Strong testing experience
- Experience with testing methodologies, processes, strategies
- Very good at problem-solving, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Node JS
- Concrete experience practicing API Performance testing with JMeter or Gatling or Artillery io.
- Experience working in a DevOps culture
- Solid understanding of CICD principles and core objectives
- Understanding of pipelines and experience with CI tools like GitHub, Bitbucket
Tech stack:
