The Developer Experience team understands deeply what slows down our developers and builds (or buys) the infrastructure that accelerates them. This includes our internal tooling platform, as well as performance monitoring, error tracking, code review, testing signals, AI coding assistants, and other industry-leading developer productivity tools.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to support the Developer Experience team. You will be responsible for strategizing, leading, and executing on projects that will affect the experience of hundreds of developers across infrastructure, consumer product, enterprise product, and developer ecosystem teams. Opportunities already identified include supporting the effort to double our client apps release velocity, surfacing actionable signals from thousands of tests and millions of logs within minutes instead of days, and optimizing the code review process for a fully-remote, internationally-distributed development team.
Our ideal candidate knows when the right solution calls for building a web-based workflow automation stack, integrating an off-the-shelf SaaS solution, or just hacking together a SQL query and a cron job. As our codebase and organization scale, we are looking for someone to lead a team of strong individual contributors to amaze our developers. Your contributions will be felt throughout the company and across every product, helping us move faster together.
For this role you can be located within the US or Canada and will be expected to be fully remote.What we're looking for:
- Previous experience managing teams of high-performing developers.
- The ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work.
- Capable of driving the delivery of projects and creating roadmaps for future work.
- Effective in cross-functional communication and building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders.
- Experience working across a range of client and service software stacks.
- Deep understanding of all aspects of the development lifecycle, especially implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Familiarity deploying and integrating with industry-standard developer tools.

USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $180,000 USD and $244,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
