About the Role

Nelson Education is seeking a strategic and results-oriented ED, Communication and Marketing to lead our organization's communication, branding, and marketing efforts. In this executive leadership role, you will be responsible for shaping the company's public image, driving brand awareness, and developing comprehensive marketing strategies to support business growth and objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the communication and marketing team, aligning their efforts with the company's overall goals and objectives. Develop and execute strategic plans that enhance brand equity and drive revenue growth.
  • Brand Development and Management: Oversee the development and management of the company's brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging and visual representation across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Integrated Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement multi-channel marketing strategies that effectively promote products, services, and brand initiatives. Ensure alignment with target audiences and market segments.
  • Public Relations: Lead all aspects of public relations, including media relations, press releases, crisis communication, and thought leadership initiatives. Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets and industry influencers.
  • Content Strategy: Drive the creation of compelling and relevant content that resonates with target audiences. Collaborate with content creators to produce high-quality materials for digital and traditional platforms.
  • Digital Marketing: Oversee digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and paid advertising. Leverage data and analytics to optimize campaign performance and conversion rates.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and customer preferences. Utilize insights to inform marketing strategies and drive informed decision-making.
  • Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget effectively, allocating resources to various initiatives, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing communication and marketing team. Provide guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and senior leadership, to align communication and marketing efforts with broader business strategies.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of communication and marketing initiatives. Regularly report progress to the executive team.
  • Partnerships and Alliances: Identify and nurture strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance the company's visibility and reach within the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of senior leadership in communication and marketing roles, with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated success in brand development, public relations, and integrated marketing strategies.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and challenges.</
