MATRIX is a national company providing camps, logistics and aviation management services to a diverse range of clients in the resource and service sectors. Yellowknife is the regional hub for our Northern Operations supporting mining exploration camps with expediting, people movement and supply chain management. MATRIX’s safety and efficiency to our clients is of top priority.

Job Requirements:

MATRIX is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to oversee our organization’s ongoing operations and procedures at our Yellowknife, NT location while meeting our client’s deliverables. This position will be responsible for building and leading a high-performance team in the delivery of high-quality, competitive services to our clients, fostering a productive work environment through the use and support of project and change management. This position will be reporting to the National Operations Manager.

This is a full-time position located at our Yellowknife, NT Operations. We offer an attractive salary for this position and benefits package. Relocation assistance is negotiable based on experience.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Managing personnel in Yellowknife location.
  • Oversee regional billing and tracking of expenses.
  • Conducting regular expense audits.
  • Staff scheduling.
  • Facility Management.
  • Maintain positive work environment.
  • Manage workplace safety.
  • Manage Client and Vendor relationships.

Operational Responsibilities

  • New project planning/execution, specifically expediting and project oversight for airlift operations.
  • Budgeting, tracking project costs, utilizing PO system.
  • Operational planning.
  • Managing scope of work changes.
  • Project tracking.
  • Project Risk Management, including proactively identifying project risks that could affect project cost, quality, and work scope.
  • Develop mitigation strategies for project risks.
  • Quality Assurance Management.
  • Tracking product and service deliverables per client contracts.
  • Create and execute action plans to address issues in remote camps in regional area of responsibility.

Oversee and support the logistics coordinator with remote camp supply chain management, specifically:

  • Shipping and receiving functions for camp equipment, machinery, fresh groceries, core samples.
  • Remote camp preparation and deployment.
  • Crew changes.
  • Asset management and tracking.
  • Warehousing.
  • Procurement.
  • Emergency Response Plan Activation.

Requirements

  • Must have a high level of computer literacy.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years’ progressive experience in operations management/leadership level.
  • Experience at senior leadership level dealing with strategy yet maintains a ‘hands-on’ approach who can roll up their sleeves and dig into the trenches as operations requires.
  • A solid career progression involving operational areas of a similar organization.
  • Proven ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a proven track record of team building and collaboration, coaching/mentoring, and cultural transformation.
  • A strong communicator who values and exhibits transparency in all communications.
  • Experience improving operational effectiveness, optimizing workflows, and executing on strategic goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in applying a methodological approach to problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure the functions of the business, establish internal controls, policies, and procedures, and design/manage that structure to achieve a highly effective organization.
  • Decision maker with demonstrated business acumen, common sense, good intuition, and sound judgement.
  • Team player, flexible, collaborative, approachable, responsive, and respectful, who is open to new ideas, embraces change and is comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment where priorities change.
  • Well balanced individual with a strong work ethic, high energy, and a sense of urgency.
  • Must have previous experience working and understanding remote camp settings.
  • Project Management training and experience considered an asset.
  • Familiar with the trucking and/or aviation industry would be an asset.

Benefits

Salary range for this position $110,000 to $140,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
