Job Description
As our Chief Technology Officer you will lead dynamic development teams focused on building shared capabilities. This role demands a strong emphasis on maintaining high-quality standards and delivering efficient software solutions.
There is also a requirement for this role to provide oversight for our IT operations to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This function includes delivery of service desk operations in HRdownloads to ensure high standards of internal customer support and service management.

What You’ll Do
Our Chief Technology Officer is an experienced IT professional who can inspire both development and internal support teams. They are passionate about creating industry-leading technology solutions and are committed to adding value to the products and services our clients rely on every day.
As our Chief Technology Officer you will:
- Provide oversight for the software development and delivery and IT operations functions at HRdownloads, ensuring successful integration and communication with The Citation Group’s engineering leadership and architecture team.
- Lead, mentor, and manage two software development teams, setting clear objectives and performance metrics.
- Oversee the development and delivery of software projects, ensuring they meet predefined engineering metrics such as code quality, performance benchmarks, and security compliance.
- Implement and enforce the Group’s Secure Software Engineering Policy. Regularly review and report on adherence to security and quality metrics.
- Liaise with the architecture team in the UK and other engineering leads to synchronize development efforts and share best practices. Work closely with the architecture team in the UK, other engineering leads, and international market teams to ensure a successful product expansion.
Requirements
About You
You are a seasoned IT professional who:
- Has 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience.
- Has successfully completed a bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer engineering or a related field.
- Is proficient in analysing and optimising development and product metrics.
- Has experience in adapting software products for international markets.
- Possesses expertise in AWS cloud services and cost optimization.
- Is proficient in agile project management and collaboration with agile coaching teams.
- Has significant experience in leading and managing software development teams. This includes experience in mentoring, guiding, and developing talent.
- Has a demonstrated ability in strategic planning and execution, aligning technology initiatives with business goals, and driving continuous improvement in technology processes and services.
- Possesses experience in overseeing IT operations, including infrastructure management, systems administration, and ensuring robust and secure IT environments.
- Has strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
