Job Description

We are hiring a bookkeeper to join our client who is a leading food manufacturer of fermented, cured, and cooked pork products in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

  • $45-55K depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable: reconcile vendor statements / invoice payments
  • Accounts Receivable: reconcile incoming payments, initiate Customer statements, process and deposit cheques
  • Financial Reporting: prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
  • Bank Reconciliation: reconcile all bank accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Payroll: assist in the processing of payroll, including tax calculations and submissions.
  • Tax Preparation: assist in tax computations, returns and monthly HST remittances.
  • Compliance: ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local financial laws and guidelines.
  • Data Management: maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accounting software.
  • WSIB Management: preparing, filing and processing reports/records.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business/accounting field an asset
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related fields is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in accounting software - QuickBooks. Candidates without experience of working on quickbooks will not be considered for this position.
  • Experience with Oracle Software
  • NetSuite experience required - only candidates with Net Suite experience should apply
  • Knowledgeable in tax regulations and compliance within Ontario and Canada.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision and to self-manage work time and priorities.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and be flexible when urgent matters arise.
