We are actively seeking an experienced Director of Quality Assurance to lead our quality assurance teams. This role involves overseeing both manual and automated testing processes across a range of products. The ideal candidate will craft a unified, modern strategy for quality assurance, with a particular emphasis on transforming products from manual methodologies to modern and agile methodologies, driven by automation. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong background in quality assurance, a proven track record of implementing QA automation processes and practices, and somebody with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
QA Automation Transformation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive automation transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
- Drive the transition to Agile QA methodologies, with an emphasis on test automation in the software development testing lifecycle
- Provide guidance and coaching to QA teams to adopt Agile automation principles and practices
- Explore modern testing strategies to improve overall testing effectiveness
Quality Assurance Strategy
- Define and execute a quality assurance strategy that supports Agile development processes and emphasizes test automation
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the quality assurance processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality assurance automation practices into testing workflows
Test Automation Leadership amp; Transformation
- Drive the implementation of a new, robust test automation framework and strategy
- Oversea QA automation team, enhancing testing efficiencies and effectiveness that leads to continuous improvement
Team Leadership and Development
- Build and lead a high-performing quality assurance team, consisting of manual and automated testing across multiple products using scale-able tools, technologies and practices
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the QA team
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for QA team members
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with software development, product management, and other teams to ensure a unified approach to QA automation processes in an Agile environment
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, to gain support and commitment for the automation transformation
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with new test automation strategies
- Proactively address impediments to automation adoption and ensure a smooth transition
Tools and Technology
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that enhance both Agile and automation testing quality assurance processes
- Oversee the implementation and integration of QA tools, with a focus on test automation to support Agile practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Director of Quality Assurance or a similar leadership/management role
- Proven experience leading, managing, and coaching large teams - at least 10+ people
- Strong background in software testing and quality assurance - minimum of 10 years experience
- Strong experience leading an Automation QA Team
- Demonstrated success in leading transformations to more Automated QA Testing within software development teams
- Excellent understanding of Agile QA principles and methodologies
- A deep understanding of quality assurance practices and a track record of shipping/releasing applications on time
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated effective time management, risk assessment, and analytical skills
- Experience with modern QA tools and technologies
- Agile, automation and quality assurance certifications are a plus
