Role Summary
As an Automotive HVAC Software Developer, you will be responsible for contributing to the creation, maintenance, and support of HVAC functionality within the Vehicle Mechatronics Embedded Controls (VMEC) team, which is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying the embedded controls and software for all vehicle systems and components that manage vehicle motion, occupant access, position, protection, vision amp; visibility, and comfort. Your contributions will make sure customer enjoy the comfortable HVAC system.
Key Responsibilities
· Working together with Product Owners, Testers and developers, using methods like Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), create and implement features for next generation of EV and ICE vehicles.
· Develop, implement and test automotive HVAC embedded software and controls, primarily in hand coded C.
· Create or modify Unit Test cases and Multi-component test cases to ensure thorough software testing, and execute model/code equivalences testing.
· Participate in the Agile Team and Agile ceremonies as required.
· Interface with other teams, such as Calibrators, Vehicle Integration Teams and so on.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experiences:
· 5+ years of hands-on experience with writing and debugging C code at an intermediate to advanced level.
· Minimum 3 years of embedded software development experience; familiar with Automotive software standards, test procedures and build processes.
· Experience with application development.
· Experience with software configuration management processes and tools (e.g. Git Ecosystem).
· Development / testing experience on SIL/HIL or other virtual environments.
· Individually motivated; Scrum Team members are expected to pursue their goals with a high degree of independence and motivation.
· Prior experience working in Agile / Scrum / SAFe.
· Good oral and written communication skills are required, and high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.
· Ability to manage time and meet deliverable timeline is critical.
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
· Experience on creating and integrating software in MATLAB Simulink models.
· Experience in any of these Automotive domains (occupant access, position, protection, vision amp; visibility, and comfort/HVAC) is an asset.
Education and Training:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
