We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our Business Intelligence and Data team. This role involves a blend of technical expertise in data engineering and business intelligence development. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing the data infrastructure and analytics platforms that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, ETL processes, and BI tools development, with a keen eye for translating business needs into technical solutions.
A day in the life of a Business Intelligence Developer:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines to support analytics and reporting needs
- Develop and optimize data models and database designs to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
- Implement ETL (extract, transform, load) processes to integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and cleansing processes
- Develop and maintain reports on various platforms
- Monitor and troubleshoot BI and data engineering solutions, optimizing performance as needed
- Stay abreast of new technologies and techniques in BI and data engineering, continuously improving our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities
More about you:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in data engineering and business intelligence
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (SQL Server)
- Hands on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Hands on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Hands on experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS Tabular) and Microsoft Power BI
- Proficiency in DAX
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data modeling techniques and data warehousing concepts
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a strong analytical mindset
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive, self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A continuous learner, open to adopting new technologies and methodologies to solve business problems.
Great if you have:
- Experience with MS Azure Data Platform (Data Lake, ADF, Synapse, etc. )
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, C#, VB
- Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., Azure Data Engineer) and/or DevOps practices
