Job Description

Vector Construction Inc., an expanding construction organization in operation for over 50 years, is a privately - owned corporation with 11 offices throughout Canada and United States.
Vector is looking for a Financial Accountant, Intermediate to join us in our head office in the south end of the city. In this role, you will be looking after our construction division and be responsible for preparing and processing invoices, maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, and reconciling accounts. Other responsibilities include;
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries as assigned
- Prepare monthly working papers for Vector entities as assigned, including reconciling general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, including US currency bank reconciliations
- Assist with the accounting and management of the Capital lease program
- Assist with monthly credit card review and processing
- Complete supplier cheque runs as assigned
- Prepare other accounting and admin tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller
- Prepare amp; distribute monthly Divisional Income Statements
Requirements
- Currently pursuing Professional Accounting Designation
- Minimum 2 years and up to 5 years of work experience
- Experience with Full cycle accounting
- Solid understanding of GST and Provincial Sales tax rules in Canada
- General knowledge of US Sales and Use taxes
- Experience entering data with accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with accounting software and proven ability to learn new programs quickly
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Proficient user in MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
