This role will be based out of our injection molding plant facility located in Barrie, ON and reports to the Setup Supervisor.

Hours Of Work:- 12-hour Continental Shifts - with the expectation of working a night shift (7:00PM-7:15AM)
- Week 1 work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday (36 hours), Week 2 work Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday (48 hours)
Pay Rate:
Hourly Rate is based on previous experience and knowledge of Plastic Injection Moulding
Base: $29.74/hour
Requirements
Main Accountabilities will be to Collaborate with the Production, Mould Maintenance and Quality departments to ensure the initial product meets output criteria, including cycle times
- Troubleshooting during production runs, when issues arise
- Perform mold, tool, and material changes as directed
- Ensure setup process includes proper shutting down of machine, purging of barrel, cleaning the mold, spraying rust inhibitor, and attaching red tag. Ensure machine setups and start ups are in accordance with company and relevant quality standards before turning over to production
- Follow and consistently exercise current work instructions daily
- Assist other Setup Technicians as the need arises
- Actively participate in the 5S, Hazards made SAFE, and Continuous Improvement programs
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent is required
- 2 + years in a previous Setup Technician Role in a related field
- Meticulous with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience/exposure working with Injection Molding Machines required
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Overhead Cranes, Forklifts, Electric Hand Jack, Power Tools, Injection Moulding Machines, thermocouplers, can-seals, plus other Miscellaneous equipment
- Company Provided Personal Protective Equipment including respirator during material purges
Our facility is a semi climate-controlled injection moulding plastics manufacturing facility. This position requires a lot of walking, standing, kneeling, squatting, and bending while working around equipment. Lifting and carrying items is required on a frequent basis, and the you must be able to lift up to 50lbs and request help for any items over and above 50lbs in weight. There is some confined space work as well as work at heights in excess of 10 feet (3 meters). You will be exposed to higher than normal noise levels and will be provided mandatory Hearing protection to wear on shift.
