Job Description

Exciting opportunity to lead, develop and enhance Fengate’s newly formed accounts payable/receivable shared services function as well as drive dedicated focus and the efficient operation of the entire procure-to-pay process, receivables collection, and the associated reporting. This role will also have the opportunity to take on other shared services support projects as required.

Working alongside Fengate’s finance teams and reporting to the VP of Corporate Finance, the successful candidate will be a strategic business partner to Fengate’s operational business units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable/Receivable Management

  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures for Fengate-wide accounts payable and receivable functions, including tax compliance.
  • Mange vendor relationships and oversee the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, corporate credit cards, and other payment requests.
  • Work independently to solve issues with team managers, escalating as required.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to accounts payable/receivable team.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Promote cross-business unit knowledge sharing and professional growth within team.
  • Improve the levels of service to vendors and department heads.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close of payables and receivables.
  • Monitor cash flow forecasts and balances in order to plan for funding requirements and other payment-runs.
  • Collaborate with Fengate finance departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Implement monthly reporting across the business for key metrics including but not limited to, days payable outstanding, days receivable outstanding, invoice cycle time, etc. ,while working to improve these metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, company policies, and internal controls.

Process Improvement and Automation

  • Continuously evaluate existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and automation as well as opportunities to create synergies across business units.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance efficiencies, and reduce manual interventions.
  • Implement and leverage technology solutions to optimize accounts payable and procurement processes.

Requirements

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounts payable role, with at least 1 year in a managerial capacity.
  • Proficiency working with NetSuite, Yardi, or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is highly desired.
  • Proficiency working with SAP Concur or similar expense management system is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing and streamlining procure-to-pay processes.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Proficient in financial analysis, reporting, and data driven decision making.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPA Designation or working towards obtaining a designation is an asset.

LOCATION

The position will be based out of the Oakville office. Fengate offers a Work-Flex policy where employees are allowed to work remotely up to 3 days per week.
