Long View is seeking an ambitiousIntermediateNetworking Consultantfor ourCalgaryoffice who thrives in service delivery! You will bring expertise in managing requirements through strong business and technical skills. If you have experience designing, deploying, managing and troubleshooting networks, this could be the opportunity for you!A Day in the Life:
- Participate in operational escalations to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
- Participate in implementation of network and system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
- Participate in gathering data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements
- Participate in recommending changes to improve systems and network configurations in client environments, and determine hardware or software requirements
- Keep abreast of relevant industry certifications and accreditations as aligned with key practices and technology partners
- 5+ years of Cisco network experience including the following:
- Cisco Routers and Switches (DRP and L2)
- Cisco Nexus Data Centre Switches
- Cisco Security Solutions (ASAs/IPSEC)
- Experience working with Meraki, PaloAlto, or Aruba Devices
- Thorough understanding and experience with the following fundamental technologies:
- IGP and EGP routing protocols, ie: OSPF, BGP
- Route filtering and policy-based routing
- Site-to-Site and remote access VPN technologies
- Network layer Quality of Service (QoS)
- Layer 2 Switching Technologies
- Firewall Management
- Industry best practice LAN design and deployment methodology and a structured approach to troubleshooting
- Ability to deliver concise, accurate technical documentation and diagrams
- Exposure and understanding of network automation techniques and technologies
- Knowledge of software development pipelines would be considered an asset
- Technical Certifications (CCNA, CCNP)
