Job Synopsis
The Director, Taxation is responsible for the corporate tax function (compliance and planning) for Nuvei international entities. You will leverage your in-depth knowledge of income and sales taxation to establish our internal tax department. Working closely with our senior leadership, finance and legal teams, you will be responsible for all aspects of corporate income tax, sales tax and transfer pricing for the global organization. You will provide multi-jurisdictional income tax advice and ensure initiatives are tax compliant and, as appropriate, develop and implement strategies and systems to minimize the overall tax burden and risk to the company.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
- Prepare the quarterly and annual income tax provisions and the related financial statements disclosures.
- Prepare and review multi-jurisdiction income tax returns, information returns and assessments.
- Research, determine and document the compliant and efficient tax treatment for a wide variety of complex transactions.
- Lead the management of audits conducted by local taxation authorities.
- Lead transfer pricing processes and prepare the global transfer pricing documentation.
- Pro-actively support a broad range of internal initiatives as they relate to income and sales taxation including acquisitions, divestitures and corporate structure.
- Implement, document and monitor the cash repatriation policy and processes.
- Monitor legislative tax developments and assess their impact on Nuvei operations worldwide.
Requirements
- At least 5-10 years of international (North America and Europe) income tax experience, in-depth income tax knowledge and strong technical competence.
- Specific experience with tax provision/tax accounting for a multinational company.
- Specific experience with transfer pricing.
- CPA designation.
- Previous experience in a management level position.
- Experience working at one of the Big 4 accounting firms in the tax advisory group.
- Talented at analyzing and researching complex issues and developing solutions to optimize tax positions.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of challenges and opportunities and see them through to resolution.

Working Language
- English (written and spoken) is the language used primarily, as work colleagues and clientele are both geographically dispersed within and outside of Quebec.
- Internal communications between colleagues occur in English or in French, depending on the parties involved.
- A basic knowledge of French is required for any position located within Quebec.
