About the Job
We are looking for a Desktop Specialist to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing desktop environment of over 15,000 desktops worldwide. The ideal candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing a scalable, maintainable desktop environment that meets business objectives and SLAs.
As Desktop Specialist, You Will
- Manage and maintain desktop environments which may consist of Windows, Apple, and Chrome desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Maintain compliance with established patching and updating requirements (OS amp; third-party software patching)
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the desktop infrastructure
- Recommend and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Build, document, and update system configurations using a zero and/or lite-touch configuration
- Maintain accurate documentation and designs of IT systems configurations, architecture, and operating procedures
- Coordinate disaster recovery planning activities and development of disaster recovery plans
- Participate in information security monitoring, incident management and investigations as required
- Perform internal audit of the IT system’s configuration and Logical Access reviews
- Participate in after hours on-call support rotation and respond to emergency situations effectively
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
As Desktop Specialist, You Have
- 5+ years of hands-on Desktops Engineer or Specialist experience
- Deep understanding of Desktop OS and management systems (e.g.,Windows, Linux, Chrome, macOS, iOS, SCCM, JAMF, VDI, etc )
- Preferred vendors: Microsoft, Apple, Google, Citrix
- Good understanding of VOIP communications
- Superior experience building and testing of enterprise software deployment packages using commercial and open source tools
- Proficient using Apple Business Manager, DEP, zero/light touch deployment tools and systems at scale
- Proven ability to communicate in both user-friendly and technical language with all levels of an organization
- Strong time management, change management, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to execute systems and services implementation and upgrades independently or as a team
- Detailed oriented, organized and technical design amp; documentation skills
- Adaptability to learn new technologies on the fly in a dynamic environment
- The ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving team environment
- Travel may be required
