As part of the hardware team, your role will be to complete engineering assignments of moderately broad scope in support of the design and development of Vention new components from early conceptual design and prototyping up to fully functional and tested products in the field.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the director of hardware engineering, you will:
- Design mechanical components to be added to the standard Vention parts library, including structural elements, linear and rotary actuators, pneumatic components, etc.
- Source, integrate and configure parts from selected manufacturers, ensuring compatibility with the rest of the platform and compliance with Vention standards
- Actively contribute to the product road map while prioritizing resources across the different industries targeted (robotics, assembly line, metrology, etc.)
- Ensure technical support and continuous improvement of existing product
- Ensure proper validation testing of the products
- Contribute to the progress of the MachineBuilder online 3D platform by providing new features and reporting any errors
Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in industrial mechanical design (automated equipment, conveyors, linear actuators, structure, robotics, etc.)
- Work experience in multidisciplinary design projects
- Ability to manage orders from suppliers within a global supply chain
- Good time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Good knowledge of mechanical design standards, while communicating them effectively on technical drawings
- Familiar with CAD software, SolidWorks an asset
- Knowledge of integration of electrical equipment (sensors, motor), an asset
