Job Description

Valard Construction Telecom Division is currently recruiting for a qualified Tower Construction Foreman - Wireless Division to be based out of Edmonton Alberta

Requirements

  • Organize tower construction crews with a focus on safety, quality and have a professional attitude in managing Valard Telecom construction methodologies and procedures, safety processes, and project execution procedureCommunicate effectively with construction crews, project managers and customer representatives in a professional manner and be able to understand communications protocols across all aspects of tower construction project
  • Manage sub-contractor crews and equipment in support of tower construction; Manage tower construction crews on site and provide the expertise necessary to safely execute all methods of procedure in the construction of wireless telecommunication tower sites and infrastructure
  • Manage and enforce the Valard Construction wireless site safety program and the HSamp;E policies of Valard Construction;
  • Assist with all aspects of job site planning, execution, and closeout activities as they pertain to field activities; Provide support to Project Managers, Construction Supervisors and Materials Coordinators in the planning, execution, and closeout of tower site project completions
  • Provide on-going mentorship and training to tower rigging crews in tower construction procedures and methodologies; Provide leadership in ensuring the safe use of and updated certifications for Gin-pole and Winch equipment for guyed tower construction;
  • Provide leadership in the safe setup and use of crane equipment of all sizes and ratings in the construction of Self Support towers

Prerequisites

  • 10 + years of experience in the construction of telecommunications tower infrastructure
  • Training certifications in the use of cranes, man-lifts, gin-pole, and double drum winches
  • Expertise to add, modify, build or maintain tower infrastructure in support of civil design engineering resources is desirable.
  • Must be fit and be able to climb tower infrastructure and be trained in Fall Protection and Tower Rescue
  • Must be able to interpret and assess tower construction civil design drawings and tower base installation methods and procedures, as well as, tower site compound designs
  • Must understand and be able to execute methods of procedure associated with the installation of cellular and microwave radio antennas and cables, antenna mounts, tower lighting, tower grounding, fall protection systems, and lightning protection systems
