Manufacturing/Production Test Engineer

Job Description
Position Summary:
This position will be involved in all aspects of defining, developing, implementing and maintaining a variety of production and manufacturing test activities and solutions, for both existing and new Delta-Q products. The successful candidate is a versatile team member who uses their skills and knowledge to build test fixtures, conduct testing and troubleshooting, write test reports, and provide general support to engineering development and production teams.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Specific Duties:
- Designs and develops automated product development and production test procedures and systems for production testing.
- Develops, verifies and documents test procedures for production testing.
- Designs, builds and documents electromechanical test fixtures, including interface circuits and test racks.
- Evaluates and procures a range of test equipment for production line release.
- Gathers test requirements, analyzes test standards, creates and reviews test plans and procedures.
- Compiles and analyzes test data and specifications from production test stations and prepares reports.
- Supports Design Verification (DV) testing when required.
- Supports the software team with validating and configuring new and existing production firmware.
- Assists with test installations at offshore Contract Manufacturer (CM) sites including commissioning, maintenance, training and remote troubleshooting.
- Occasional travel abroad to CM sites may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Relevant education in Electronics or Electrical Engineering coupled with a minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing or production test environments, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Detailed knowledge of test and measurement techniques and equipment, especially in the domain of power electronics.
- Proven knowledge and use of NI LabView and NI TestStand for programming and controlling test equipment.
- Previous experience designing and building custom and industry standard test fixtures and interfaces.
- Proficiency in delivering automated test setups for product development and production.
- Hands-on experience with diverse test and measurement equipment, e.g. AC/DC sources, loads, power meters, oscilloscopes, electrical safety testers, DAQ devices and environmental chambers.
- Demonstrated circuit and schematic analysis and troubleshooting.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity in test fixture design.
- Outstanding multitasking abilities and dedication as a team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel internationally when required.

At present, Delta-Q continues to work in a hybrid remote work/office work model. This position is expected to work either remotely or at Delta-Q's main office in Burnaby, BC when required. COVID-19 office safety protocols are in place.
