About Royal Columbian Hospital
Royal Columbian provides the highest level of care to the most critically ill and injured from throughout the region and province. We are a provincial referral centre for cardiac care, trauma, neurosciences, high-risk maternity, neonatal intensive care, and mental health. No other hospital in the province provides this level of care, or offers all these services, on one site or in such high volumes.
Right now, Royal Columbian is undergoing a $1.49 billion multi-year, multi-phase redevelopment. This is one of the largest government-funded health care redevelopments in BC’s history. The first phase of our redevelopment, a new Mental Health and Substance Use Wellness Centre, opened to patients in August.
Position Overview
Whether it’s a heart attack, car accident, tumour removal or a stroke, Royal Columbian Hospital is known for providing the highest level of care during life or death medical moments. Often, patients and their families wish to express gratitude and honour the care received with a gift to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
The Manager, Hospital Philanthropy will create a proactive cycle of grateful patient referrals by RCH physicians who understand the importance of philanthropy and are engaged in the work of our Foundation, with the goal of increasing major and legacy gifts to RCHF.
In addition, the Manager, Hospital Philanthropy will be responsible for all elements of our Family Campaign for hospital staff and physicians, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Qualifications
University degree with five (5) years minimum experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in fundraising, Specific knowledge relating to major and legacy giving is an asset, as is experience in a health care environment and experience with capital campaigns. Experience with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and working knowledge of Raiser's Edge required. Valid BC driver's license and possession of a personal vehicle also required.
