We have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Manager, Public Relations to join our Marketing team.

This role is an integral part of our growth strategy and will be key to communicate our business vision to external stakeholders and media. You will apply your PR expertise to develop a strong brand awareness, and to establish PressReader as a key leading company in the industry. By optimizing your interpersonal skills and tech industry knowledge you will develop a genuine relation with and coach our leadership team to have successful public appearances and media contact.

Requirements

In this role, you will:

  • Act as the main media contact for PressReader, maintaining and nurturing important relationships to drive media coverage
  • Develop a short-term and long-term PR strategy that is cohesive with the business vision and objectives
  • Create external company-facing material such as corporate overviews and corporate decks
  • Provide writing and editing support to PressReader’s executives, such as preparing executive speeches, keynotes and other communication materials for presentations and other events
  • Coach and prep leadership in advance of media interviews and public speaking events
  • Work closely with the marketing department to support a strong and consistent messaging via all communication channels
  • Adapt your approach to the evolving priorities and needs of the company and the market
  • Manage all media-driven events from plan development, budget management, program flow, and implementation with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all event deliverables are met on time and within budget
  • Monitor the public environment and perspective, applying insights strategically, and providing solutions should issues that may impact reputation arise
  • Develop and maintain all media lists and contact information

You are a great fit if you have:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Public Relations
  • A passion for creating PR strategies in line with the company vision and desired positioning
  • Experience Standardizing corporate communication and building a consistent messaging
  • Deep knowledge of brand awareness with media and external stakeholders
  • The proficiency to prep leaders before public appearance and media exposure
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to translate brand voice to external medias
  • Experience developing a PR strategy for a growing tech company from scratch
  • A highly collaborative and flexible mindset
  • An inquisitive approach and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges

Bonus points if you:

  • Experience with media and journalism and/or subscription-based services
  • Second language (for instance Spanish or French)
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector

This role is a full-time position based in our Richmond, BC office. Working from home is available during the Covid pandemic.
