We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer for SSi Artificial Lift in our Calgary office. The ideal candidate is a new or recent graduate in a Mechanical Engineering program (Bachelor of Science) wanting to work in a design, manufacturing and Ramp;D environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position supports the design and development of new and existing equipment. This role will be responsible for: equipment modification, Ramp;D, preparing drawings, recording design calculations, fixing discrepancies between drawings and final product, performing tolerance studies, preparing equipment manuals and technical specification sheets, and preparing technical presentations. The successful candidate has the ability to understand requirements and deliver quality work the first time. We are looking for someone who has a superior attention to detail, able to thinking out of the box, and considers themselves a perfectionist.
Requirements
- New or recent graduate in a Bachler of Science in Mechanical Engineering program
- Eligible to apply for an Engineer-In-Training designation through APEGA
- Proficient in using Solidworks with a good understanding of FEA
- Eager to learn both Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic parts of the product.
- Able and willing to work in the shop to check, test, QA/QC the product, both mechanically and electrically
- Experience with AutoCAD is an asset
- Experience with hydraulics and PLCs is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
