As ATB’s next Director, Investment Banking -- Diversified Industries you will have responsibility for developing and building client relationships in the diversified industries sector including growth amp; innovation companies utilizing new technologies. Collaborate with partners to cover clients and prospects and to identify and deliver creative, timely solutions. Lead deal teams to maximize market penetration and returns. Provide deal structuring expertise to the team. Maintain awareness of all ATB Capital Markets products and services offered. Prepare and oversee delivery of creative and timely "pitches."

Requirements

Director Accountabilities:

  • Director's main responsibility is sourcing new business and overseeing the execution of engagements.
  • Managing client relationships, lead investment banking deal teams, and collaborate and generate solutions to current and prospective clients.
  • Manage junior level team members on the tactical aspect of deal execution.
  • Identify and develop high potential team members.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and career development of Analysts, Associates and Vice Presidents on the team.
  • Complete due diligence on new and existing client relationships. May include client visits, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends.
  • Considers risk and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • As part of an ongoing team approach to best serve and manage corporate clients, the Director will assist in identifying and recommending related ancillary investment and corporate banking products to clients.
  • Oversees the creation of pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participates in Investment Banking presentations to clients and prospects.
  • Monitors client, client industry and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect client’s business needs.
  • Participates in deal teams to develop, present and win mandates for new opportunities.
  • Understands the needs of clients and identifies solutions to make clients successful.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CFA, CPA or MBA designation recommended
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related fields of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, accounting or engineering and an outstanding academic achievement.
  • Knowledge of capital markets, investment banking products and applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrates solid deal/transaction execution and/or project management skills.
  • Exceptional skills in quantitative analytics and financial modeling.
  • Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
