Leader Name: Director, EFS Strategic Initiatives


Reporting to the Director, EFS Strategic Initiatives, you will support the development of strategies and undertake projects relating to ATB’s network of physical branch and agency locations and provide in depth expertise, analytical interpretation, and key insights.

The role will be responsible to perform relevant analysis of the branches and agencies that make up our retail network, the markets and competitive landscape we operate within, and the behaviours and needs of the customers that use them.

You’ll collaborate and consult with partners across the organization to develop these insights into recommendations, then further translate them into actions; building and executing detailed plans that move our physical footprint strategy forward.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead data gathering and modelling from external research and internal sources. Perform analyses to bring forth actionable recommendations that bring ATB’s retail footprint strategy to life.
  • Develop specialized market and location analyses, by doing external research on public shared information, providing insight on performance, industry trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Partner with the EFS business performance team to obtain the financial and customer data required for market analysis, and recommendations
  • Develop detailed business plans to drive changes to achieve EFS Strategy
  • Methodically break complex problems and tasks into manageable segments, identifying possible risks or issues. Leverage established methodologies for project management, business analysis, data analytics, LEAN, etc, as required.
  • Collaborate and partner with other AoEs to ensure holistic, fulsome recommendations.
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership on the direction of strategic initiatives for EFS.
  • Research customer demographics, behaviours and the competitive landscape.
  • Understand ATB’s strategy and identify the data required to make informed strategic decisions.

Accreditation:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in financial services or equivalent industry experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience conducting primary and secondary research and data analytics
  • Relevant professional designation such as: Project management, Six Sigma, Lean methodology, Data analytics, Data science
  • Expert knowledge of Everyday Financial Services, its distribution networks and experience with SAP and ATB systems
