We are looking to recruit an ambitious process-focused individual in a dynamic role as a Logistics Senior Manager in Toronto. As a Logistics Senior Manager, you will create schedules, processes and leadership to a team of Inbound specialists in the highly competitive grocery delivery industry.

Logistics Senior Managers are responsible for creating transportation plans to service multiple micro-fulfillment centers across the country in the fresh focused perishable food industry. This includes ensuring the efficient and accurate process adherence and monitoring of shipments on a daily basis from multiple sites. They will also work cross-functionally with internal teams to maintain relationships with our partners, and working to ensure planning and issue-resolution can be executed quickly and at a low cost per delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Define planning methodology and tactics to execute Goodfood’s transportation needs
  • Manage a team of inbound specialists who oversee operations across multiple facilities that run 18 hours per day, 7 days a week
  • Oversee the maintenance, organization and execution of transportation amp; operational SOPs for production facilities across Canada
  • Ensure that chain of custody data for every order is meticulously maintained
  • Implement continuous improvement projects and share ideas that drive efficiencies, best practices, and cost savings across the delivery network
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to minimize disruptions to planned operations
  • Execute tactical planning and forecasting; performance appraisal and address staffing needs on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • 8+ years of work experience, with 5+ years direct experience in a manufacturing, production, distribution or logistics environment
  • Drives operational excellence You possess strong operational intelligence and understand how issues in a connected supply chain create bottlenecks
  • Extremely organized - You enjoy refining processes and creating structure which is simple and easy for anyone to follow.
  • Master of Excel You are an excel wizard; bonus for SQL or other coding skills!
  • Technology You have rolled out a TMS or have experience with TMS solutions.
  • Team building You have previous experience interviewing, hiring, conducting performance management, developing, and terminating employees to build and maintain an all-star team
  • Detail oriented You possess strong organizational skills and consistently demonstrate a methodical approach to all your work
  • A natural communicator You can explain information and processes to a variety of audiences written and verbally
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, multitask and easily manage stress

Availability

  • You will be responsible for managing a team which provides 24/7 coverage of shipments across the country
  • You are comfortable working a non-standard schedule where needed to support your team and critical business operations including overnight, weekends and holidays
