Job Summary
The Reliability Engineer works in collaboration with Maintenance and Engineering at the plant to improve equipment reliability and optimize life-cycle costs of assets through engineering and system solutions.

Principal Responsibilities

Developing and implementing reliability-based systems including preventative maintenance systems, lubrication, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring (CBM).

Establish short, med and long-term strategies to ensure equipment performance and life cycles.

Participate in the creation and optimization of maintenance routines care (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for existing and new equipment.

Management of the predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimum equipment availability.

Development and implementation of inspection programs with transition to quantitative inspections.

Analysis and elimination of repetitive problems through root cause analysis, Pareto analysis (main bad actor identification), and similar techniques.

Writing of operating procedures and with the best up-to-date practices, in order to improve the execution of the work

Support and guide sustainable improvements in MTBF of major equipment.

Facilitation of continuous improvement processes around equipment availability and reliability.

Provide ongoing reports as needed on asset reliability.

Responsible for the process of gathering input and facilitating task completion through others.

Provide technical support, training and development for maintenance functions with specific focus on entrenching reliability concepts within the maintenance group.

Write the roadmap annually and build a change management strategy on the evolution of maintenance practices.

Responsible for managing improvements (MOC procedure) on equipment.

Be responsible for breakage analyzes and, if necessary, make changes to current maintenance practices to prevent recurrence.

Be responsible for post-mortems (following a shutdown or a major maintenance activity) in order to make potential improvements for future similar activities.

Research and implement solutions to technical problems.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Field of Study

3 years of similar experience in a manufacturing setting

Have experience with best manufacturing practices. (lean manufacturing concept) an asset.

Comprehensive computer software knowledge required, including Excel, Word, Project, Auto CAD, CMMS’s, etc. is preferred
